Starting Out

This category of articles begins with a brief history of computing and then moves on to cover several aspects of how these boxes of tricks actually work. There can be little doubt that a basic understanding of the evolution and operation of this technology can only help when it comes to using computers - whether that be at home or as part of your job. Some companies will run training courses for non-IT staff to provide an overview of some of the ground visited by these articles but I hope that, even for the already initiated, some of the material here will be of some benefit.
